... to repair or not to repair?
That is the question pondered by most of us at one time or another,

Here
are some guidelines for you to follow in determining whether repair
or replacement is needed:
When
to have your windshield repaired:
- If
you have a chip in your windshield that can be covered completely
by a quarter and is less than 3/16 of an inch deep.
When
to have your windshield replaced:
- If
the damage penetrates both layers of laminated glass simultaneously.

If there are three or more extended long cracks.

If the damage or crack is on the inside layer of glass.

If the damage or crack is visibly dirty.

If the damage or crack is in a heated wiper rest area.

If the damage or crack is in a fully heated windshield.

If the damage has a pit size larger than 3/8 of an inch deep.

If the cracks run through the acute area of the windshield, potentially
causing a driving hazard by obstructing the driver's vision.

If edge cracks intersect more than once with an edge.

If the cracks are stress cracks.

If the damage is in a bulletproof windshield.
